P: Pen Tool Not Working as it should

I have just updated Photoshop to v22.3 (10 March 2021). When I try to use the Pen Tool it puts the nodes in but doesn't create a linking line. I have closed everything and re-started my PC but the error still there. I've been trying to find a way to report this to Adobe but this is the only feedback area I can find. I have been using Photoshop for over 20 years and using the Pen Tool all that time. I need to complete a job but I'm now stuck as I need this tool.

Can I uninstall this update?

Anyone else having this problem?

Do Adobe monitor this feed?

Hi,

We're happy to announce the release of Photoshop 22.4 which should include the fix for this issue. To update Photoshop to the latest version, you can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

For information on other issues fixed with this update, please check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html

I am having the same problem. At this time, I'm simply not saving my paths because if I do the path tool stops working properly. I am using v22.3.1. If they can't get this fixed, I will have to downgrade my version.

Until they do - please see the workaround that has been posted multiple times in this thread.

ADOBE - PLEASE FIX ASAP!

Until that happens you can either keep a Work Path while working on named Paths or roll back to Photoshop 20.x.x

+1 and half the students in my Advanced Photoshop courses have this same issue.  Pretty frustrating when I give them assignments based on Paths and they don't work.  At first I blamed them, and then it happened to me which led me to this thread.  ADOBE - PLEASE FIX ASAP!

Rename path as" Work Path" and it will work!

*kerrymaxwell I respect your patience on this thread. By now, you probably have a Copy/Paste response ready to go! People, read the past thread comments!

Thanks for the work path advice, I did not see that. I rarely use or have to use forums and I missed that advice but saw the advice to roll back to 22.2, which I did. When these things happen I always think its is something I clicked that changed something and I waste time resetting tools and wondering what I did (I did create a new work path at the time btw which didn't help). I'm 52 and been using Photoshop since 1996 and the type of work I do now is so dumb that the prime accomplishment is moving it out the way and going on to the next one, with more distractions than ever.

The disruption and frustration comes from all the time you spend wondering what the heck happened to the program before you go looking for the solution online, and I get it, but this has been a lesson for me on how few people read through the comments on an issue.  And to be fair, it really is on Adobe to make sure there aren't issues like this in the first place.

To be fair: At current this thread seems to have 5 pages of replies so it might be fairly easy to overlook the pertinent ones.
