Photoshop 2026 is the worst version so far

This version has so many bugs, I don’t even want to use it any more and am switching back to 2025. Just to name a few, it crashes every time you try to print directly from the program. The last month alone, it has cleared my actions 3 times without an app update. It crashed randomly when our workflow is always the same. I have files that work just fine with older versions, but with 2026 it acts like my files are corrupt. Updates clearly aren’t helping either and I have my workspace and preferences the way I like, but even with syncing the actions continuously get cleared. If this ever gets fixed I’ll consider switching, but in the meantime until 2027 comes out, I will be sticking with 2025.

    @ Everyone,

This thread is becoming impossible to respond to or comment on, because people are just piling up unrelated issues on top of another.

Most of the things reported below have their own threads with different answers and solutions. Some are known issues, some are not bugs but intended and normal behavior, some are most likely corrupt preferences.

Has the bug where previous versions of Pro4444 caused crashes and stuttering when opening MOV videos still not been fixed?

Despite reminders to update to 2026, I am currently using 2025 as it actually performs. Despite my repeated attempts to accurately enter profiles in colour settings, the rendering of my images is so inaccurate, I have repeatedly deleted the 2026 version. The 2026 version just suddenly failed. Have Adobe gone to sleep, or is everyone just romancing with Ai? Maybe I will continue my experiments with painting.

At least one major crash everyday. Using Photoshop feels more and more like a fight just to use it.

How do you download earlier versions of photoshop? I just resubbed and downloaded for my imac, but it's horrible. I've had to restart the computer several times before it started acting normally :/

Sorry to hear you're running into so many issues. Since you mentioned crashes while printing, actions being cleared, and files appearing corrupt, it sounds like there may be more than one issue involved rather than a single bug.

Just out of curiosity, did you migrate your preferences from Photoshop 2025, or did you start with fresh preferences after installing 2026? Also, are you using any third-party plug-ins or custom actions?

If the exact same workflow is stable in 2025 but consistently fails in 2026 on the same files, that's definitely useful information for Adobe because it points to a possible regression. The more reproducible details you can share (OS, build number, GPU, and the steps that trigger the crashes), the easier it will be for others to test and narrow down the cause.

My 2026 version has suddenly become a nightmare. Even with all the colour settings correctly set, my images suddenly look flat and lifeless. I have uninstalled 2026 and I am working with the 2025 version.

You can tell the higher ups said “Just use AI” about six times a day. I’m sure the developers themselves were not so enthusiastic.

I’m sorry, but I have to disagree. This is a general rant, and people are adding to that rant. There is no specific solution to a general rant like this. It’s intended to be a general rant. And I have to agree with OP, and Adobe should take note. I have three subscriptions used across 5 computers and I’ve frozen or rolled back both PS and LRC on all of them.

The lack of quality control with Adobe cloud products across the board lately is chronic, and this general rant addresses that. People have chimed in with specific rants that fall within the general rant. Adobe should listen. People are increasingly calling out poor quality of Adobe releases both here and on Reddit.

Read the comments, take them in, soak it up. Adobe needs to do better. As a small business, I spend time every single week dealing with newly introduced Adobe bugs, from AI degrading healing brush tool, tools not working correctly, actions not working correctly, droplets breaking, camera tethering not working, preferences getting reset or not working correctly, and all of it costs me time and money in productivity while I pay a monthly fee that I feel is too much.

    Bug reporting here!

I have been user for 20 years, photoshop is my daily bread.

Work with large files and Actions, which took me years to develop and improve. Suddenly on Monday Jun 01, 2026, after working normally with my actions during past week, Photoshop is crashing every time I try to run any action.

    • Unable to edit actions,
    • Unable to run them properly, my action have several parts, sometimes they stop so I can add something into a layer, then continue, this became impossible.
    • Actions panel changed unexpectedly with a new interface I am not sure I even like.

Action panels has worked stably for the last 20 years, if you want to turn it into something “new” better create a new tab with another fancy name and let the old lady Action tab alone!

Going to an older version of photoshop ASAP!

PS Version 27.7.0… the Remove tool barely works… I used it on several photos with terrible results… I went to PS 25 with the same photo and the remove tool worked perfectly...
