Photoshop CC 2017 Unusable slow

I upgraded my Photoshop to CC 2017 today and since the upgrade it has been very very slow. When I click on File menu the dropdown menu appears like after 3-4 seconds. When I delete layer it take about 10 second. Zoom in and out are terribly slow. I work on Photoshop everyday hope to get the problem resolve as soon as possible.

Is there a way to downgrade to earlier version?

My computer details:

Windows 10 Pro

Processor: Intel i7-5960X

RAM: 32 GB

Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti

SSD

The good news is we think we've found a system we can reproduce the issue on in-house (after trying for the past 3 weeks). We're currently working to debug the issue, but in the meantime we'd like people to try this:

1.  Go to the Adobe Create Cloud application and click the gear on the right-hand side and select Preferences...

2.  From the Preferences dialog, click the Sign Out button, then quit the Adobe Creative Cloud App (using the same gear dialog)

3.  Reboot your system

4.  Sign back into the Adobe Creative Cloud (either in the ACC app itself or by launching PS)

Does this help with overall performance in CC 2017?

Unfortunately, in my case*, nothing changed. PS, DW and MU are still sluggish. The only change was the apps started asking me for a review.

* MacBook Pro (13-inch, early 2015), 2,9GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM. macOS Sierra.

Installed PS CC 2015 and all is well.  Still a CPU and Memory hog but it's smooth and uses minimal storage space as it works.

I agree, I went back to CC 2015 and all is well for now. There is nothing new in the 2017 release that I really need, so this works fine for me.

Terri,

I fully understand that the purpose of the cancellation policy.   I made it within the 14 days so I'm ok.  I'll download it again as soon as they resolve their software issue and I resolve my broken PC issue.

I have the same issue, it was right after upgrading to cc2017. everything is painfully slow, fonts load like 15 at a time and i constantly have the spinning wheel. I get the wheel even when clicking on File. I have 32gig of ram and have an i7 processor with a fusion drive 3tb...my machine is only a year old. photoshop 2015 was fast and no problems.

I should not have to downgrade, i sure hope adobe fixes this issue super fast, i can't get any work done.

I don't know if you realize, but you don't actually downgrade rather you install CC2015.5.2 in parallel with CC2017-this is possible as the old version lives in a different folder to CC2017 -you can therefore apply any fix as it becomes available for CC2017 while still remaining productive with CC2015.5.2

I just updated to Photoshop CC 2017 over the weekend and am very sorry to report that it is very, very slow....it is so slow that it is completely unusable. It won't even open the image I clicked on in Lightroom to edit in PS.  I'm working on a fast 27" Retina iMac running Yosemite with 4 GHz quad-core i7,  3TB hybrid drive and 16GB ram. I can't even use the program; all that happens is the beach ball spins...it's frickin' ridiculous! I'm going to uninstall this version and go back to 2015.5. Running the standalone version of PS CS 6 everything is plenty zippy.

Really, really disappointed, Adobe. Get your act together.  This is as bad as Apple releasing that complete POS operating system known as El Crapitan.

So I tried to unsubscribe from PS CC monthly plan as it won't run and I have uninstalled it.  They wanted to charge me a $58 cancellation fee for a program I am being charged $9.99/month ($120 a year).  This idiot wants to sell me into a plan for $29.99/ month.  Can't make this stuff up:

That's actually "priceless". Like one of those M$oft scammers on Youtube.

I've seen that error when the old CS6 is already installed on the machine.  We're supposed to uninstall the cs6 and use the cc6 or whatever it's called now.

I was having the same problems with the new 2017CC update.

I have a GeForce GTX 760/PCIe/SSE2 graphic processor. NVIDIA released an update to this driver a few days ago. I installed the updated driver and my problems disappeared. I think most users' problems are the result of a outdated GPU driver.

Please check the following link: Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) card FAQ

On this page, you will see a list of graphics cards Adobe tests with each new release. If you have one of these cards, check to see if an updated driver has been released. If it has, that will probably solve your problem. If a new driver hasn't been released, and your card is on the list, call the company making your card and discuss. If your card isn't on the list, you should give VERY STRONG CONSIDERATION to upgrading your card with one that Adobe tests. I hope this helps.

I've got an early 2009 Mac Pro running a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB with El Capitan. PS 2015.5 works fine.

With 2017 I can't get an image to appear with out a very long lag when I try to open a file, large or small.

Adobe obviously added "features" to the 2017 program that affect my functionality greatly.

Is anybody that is experiencing this excessively slow lag while working in Photoshop CC 2017 located in the Pacific West Coast?

If so, let us know if you'd be willing to have our performance engineer visit to perform some tests on your computer.

Regards

Pete

Hey.  I live in the Northeast and have a question.  Why aren't these customers who are experiencing significant performance issues, using Adobe tech support?  I bought PS CC 2017 and have since lost a hard drive after experiencing significant problems with this software.  I can't blame PS CC with certainty but in my mind I do blame it.  My PC is relatively new and PS brought it to its knees.  If I had been smart and aware, I would have contacted support sooner and let them remote in.

My experience in the past with Adobe Support was abysmal, and they spent more effort trying to herd us to unstaffed peer-to-peer forums and FAQs rather than helping us address issues quickly. If this has changed, great. Nice to see that at least one or two techs are popping in.

I'm a new Creative Cloud user without any prior version of the software ever installed (so no configuration files from older versions) and I'm experiencing the same slowness issue. Everything is laggy, as if I was playing a newest AAA game on a 5 years old laptop. Even though I've tried creating a small image (100 x 100), every action takes a significant amount of time: scrolling, magnifying, drawing with a brush tool (the drawing is about 1 second behind the cursor).

But it's not only the Photoshop that is slow. Using Muse and Dreamweaver gives the same results: basic actions in literally empty projects are slow and my CPU usage skyrockets. The only app I've tried that works smoothly is Experience Design, by the way.

I've tried changing the Performance settings and created a new user account on my computer with apps installed again, but it didn't help at all.

I'm on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, early 2015), 2,9GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM. macOS Sierra.
