Photoshop cc 2018 png sequence

Hi,

Since I installed photoshop cc 2018 I can't export a png sequence from the timeline.

I'm using both layers as well as videolayers in a rgb document. When I try to render the video the png option isn't available.

I have no idea if something in my settings is wrong or if it's a bug.

Is anyone aware of the same issue or knows how to solve it?

Best,

Loek

Hi,

Thanks, but I'm already following that thread. I was just wondering if there was any news on this, since it has been quite for some time.

I guess it's just a matter of time then.

Sorry for the confusion here,

The intended fix for adding the video timeline - Render to PNG file format is not in for this dot release.

Hi All,

This issue should be fixed in Photoshop CC 19.0.1. please open the creative cloud application & click on Update to install this patch for Photoshop.

Regards,

Sahil

Hi Sahil,

I updated Photoshop cc with the creative cloud app. Then restarted my laptop just in case.

Unfortunately the issue is still there. I still can't select png when rendering a videolayer.

Then I checked if I have the version you're talking about. So I opened photoshop and went to help>'about photoshop' to check the version. It doesn't display 19.0.1 but instead 19.0.

Creative cloud doesn't show me any newer updates either so whatever the update did, it didn't work for me.

Png sequence is still grayed-out for me too.

For what it's worth, I started exporting out .tiff sequences (with alpha channels) and the export was way faster than png sequences.

Thanks Dave, have done that now.

Loekvugs. I am now exporting to TIFF with transparency .,  Seems faster than the PSD,  its taking 6 minutes per frame,  a vast improvement on 45 minutes. I have the quaoity settings set to 8, as it initially was set to 10 and was pgoing to take a suggest 4 hours and 55minutes .

Will then convert it later to PNG.

It may be a quick stopgap solution.

Thanks, but I just reinstalled cc2017. It's easier for me that way.

Don't forget you can have more than one version installed on the same PC. So that you can use CC2017 to export a png sequence  but can still use the other new features of CC2018

Well PSD export worked but it took nearly 12 hours to export just 12 frames, of a tiny animation?

Can some-one in Adobe look into this issue. I am In the middle of a huge project, and this is not a workable solution.

How do we attracted Adobe Staff, to this issue?

Same thing happens to me and I'm using osx.  I hope it's a bug and they didn't take this feature out.

I am having the same issue now. I had previously created png sequence animation using the timeline, but now, I cannot select PNG as an option regardless of document settings, such as 16 or 32 bit.

the png option remains grayed out.

Going to attempt to export as PSD, and then convert to png. but this is adding major workflow issues and added time.

Yes exactly the same for me. The png option is grayed out.

I'm using windows 7 by the way. That might be useful information for tech support.

And, I am using Windows 10.

PSD rendering is taking an age and at present not sure if it is doing anything... it's caught on the first frame for the last hour?  will leave it over the weekend, but it seems a lot of rendering time, for a 200x200 bitmap image, of just 12 frames of 3D animation?
