Problem with Bevel Emboss layer effect in PSNo shadow side

I'm having a problem with the Bevel Emboss layer effect in Photoshop. I'm getting a highlight on the "high" side (like I want), but no shadow on the "bottom" side. I'm using inner bevel (but problem is the same on similar effects). Technique doesnt matter. Shadow mode, color, opacity and percent don't help. Any ideas?

Increase the altitude of your lamp (you have it set to 0 degrees at present)
