Quotation Marks keeps changing direction on their own in Photoshop

So, I was testing out using straight quotes with a font instead of curly quotes, and I noticed that the straight quotes (which tend to be on a slight angle), change their direction based on whether or not what's in them has a space or not. There may be other factors, but this is what I figured out after some quick testing.

Example (Where "\\" and "//" are quotation marks):
//TestTest\\
\\Test Test//

The space seems to cause the quotation marks to display correctly, but the lack of the space seems to cause the quotation marks to face the wrong direction. Can someone help with this?
