Save for web scales down resolution even tho slices are under the max. resolution

If a file is over the “Save for web” maximum resolution of 8192px it scales down the image to max res. Even though exporting slices that are smaller than the max. res. (1080x1350px) it still scales it down to about 75%. The original file is 10800x1350px big, and has 10 slices á 1080x1350px that are scaled down to a height of 1024px.

You can use my "Save Slices to Files" script to save slices to JPEG, PNG, WEBP, PSD, TIFF formats without a size limitation (don't use the export save for web for JPEG, just use the standard JPEG option which uses save):

What you describe is correct and ‘as designed’. I doubt we will see a change in that, given that Save for Web is a legacy function. It is still here as Export As cannot yet replace the functions within Save for Web.
Export As can export the 10800x1350 file but, at present, it does not support slices.
