Since I have updated the mac os to OS catalina, I have a problem with photoshop that larger psd files are not being saved. The saving remains at 99%. I have the most recent version of Photoshop (CC 2010 21.0.0) Who knows what that is about?

Hi all,

We're sorry for the save stuck issue. Could you please update Photoshop to the 22.4.2 version via the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app and check if that helps to resolve the problem?

For more info related to updating Creative Cloud apps, see this: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi, I have still the same issue with 22.4.2
It's not a huge problem, but strange.

I've had this problem since I started using external SSD drives (Sabrent Rocket XTRM-Q External SSD) with my MacMini a year ago. I just upgraded to a Mac Studio – the same thing occures. My SSDs connect via Thunderbolt. I'm using the latest version of Photoshop 23.4.1.

Adobe ..... WHY can't you fix this issue???

Hi, I updated today to 22.4.1
But it's still the same. The first 99% are saved very fast and the last percent needs time.

Bye, Stefan

I have found a work around that may help.... Copy all layers to a folder and merge to a flat image. You can keep all your layers in a folder and hide it. Try saving again and it should save quickly and completely.

I had issues when trying to save a PSD as PDF. Stuck at 99% every time... even on my local HD. Flattened the image and BOOM! Saved!

I'm having the same problem on my Macbook Pro – on Mojave 10.14.6.

With Photoshop CC2019.

I'm also working on a networked drive (connected by ethernet).

Files are 100M.

I am having the same problem with 21.1.0.

Absurd.

Rebooted and problem has stopped. No idea why.

The solution, if you're using an external USB drive formatted in EXFAT (so you can work on different OS's), is to immediately hit save once your Lightroom photo opens in Photoshop. If it doesn't 100% save, close it and repeat "edit in" from within Lightroom. Perhaps Adobe will fix this bug, but in the meantime I've got a living to earn.

I am having the same problem tryin to save to an ExFat drive. Yet another Catalina/Photoshop problem. These recent updates have been a complete nightmare.

Format your drive APFS 🙂

Yeh I'm having the same problem, only periodically. The reason people use ExFat is it's cross-platform. I would no longer be able to use my desktop computer in my home office to edit because it's Win10. I also occasionally have the issue on my Win 10 rig: it seems a photoshop-Lightroom communication error rather than a file transfer protocol one.

Im having the same issue with an external harddrive formatted to exfat. Any way to fix it without reformatting the harddrive? (You have to take everyhting off to reformat right? mine is 4TB and I haven't got the space (or time) anywhere else to put everything on it while I format the 4TB).

It's only sometimes that it crashes, I had been editing CR2 images to PSD and jpegs they were saving when I opened them one at a time but were showing in finder. So I ejected and restarted my laptop and the new files were present but looked corrupt, the psd's, had squares of the photoshop layers missing to show unedited undernearth. I opened, edited and saved a few more new bits before opening the corrupt looking psd, which looked fine in photoshop, but wouldn't save. Now it won't close photoshop or allow me to eject my harddrive because 'photoshop is using it'. It's happened a couple times in the last week since updating to Catalina.

Yes that's the same problem I have, formatting APFS will fix it and yes you'll have to backup all the data first.

I had the same problem and I've found the issue today. I have been editing from a SSD (Samgsung T5 1TB). This came to be formatted exFAT, this format comes with some accessibility issues that is conflicting with Apple's Privacy - in tern causing Photoshop to have saving problem I reformatted the drive to the new Apple format APFS and the problem is now fixed and also much faster.

I have the same issue and the exact same drive. Can you direct me to how you came to fix the issue?

I am also having the same problem. If wont save anything and gets stuck at 99%. I even restarted my computer multiple times and nothing. Now it wont even open up. I have projects I need to finish and hopefully they can fix this as soon as possible
