Question

Scratch Disk list not showing C: drive, Win 10

I have three internal disks on my Win 10 machine, all formatted NTFS, and PS v24.0.

C: is an SSD which holds the OS and most program files and has 250GB of space.

😧 a hard disk which holds most program data except my photos & videos

H: a hard disk which holds all photo files.

The Scratch Disk preferences lists 😧 and H: but not C:.

I have opened PS and saved a file on the C: drive and restarted PS, but C: is still not listed as available for use as a scratch disk.

Any ideas how to get the C: drive listed?

Hi

If you hold Ctrl + Alt while launching Photoshop you should see this screen, is the C drive showing up there

I double clicked PS and immediately pressed and held Crtl + Alt. this popped up:

That's really odd, never seen that before.

The only thing I can think of is corrupt preferences, so try to reset. A corrupt prefs file can sometimes cause really weird things. It doesn't just contain your personal preferences, but all aspects of application configuration.
