Something for the Weekend - Part 261 - Know the Drill!

Thanks to all who took part in our previous challenge. Who would have though a whisk could be so versatile.

This week we start with a cordless drill. Actually it is a model from Adobe 3D assets, to which I added textures in Adobe 3D Substance Painter before rendering in Blender 3D.

The challenge is, what can you make with the drill?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • The challenge is not limited to Photoshop. Any Adobe software can be used.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, click it then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image — please use the reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the bottom of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave.

Now that’s a proper drill bit. First in with an animation this week, Trevor 🙂

I like it - the name on the Saloon is a good touch.

It’s an old gag, but I made it all (twice — because it vanished when almost done, and I had to start again!).

I’m looking at this and remembering we had one of those emergency alerts last week.  It doesn’t matter if your phone is turned off with the battery removed and in a Faraday pouch.  They somehow turn your phone’s volume to ELEVEN and make a God-Awful screech.  When it happens for real the last thing you need is your ears bleeding while dealing with the latest earthquake, volcanic eruption flood, landslip etc.   I’ve always been at home when they have gone off before and I would so love to be in a crowded supermarket when every phone in the building screams ‘WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!’.   Not that it would have any impact on the average NZ South Islander.  They’d all think ‘She’ll be right. I’ll just finish these last half dozen beers and maybe go see if my house is still there.’  They don’t care what happens to those JAFAs on the North Island.

Do you have these where you live, and what do they warn you about?

I wasn’t sure it would let me do this, but I was careful to describe it as a raygun.  I think the Ai might use specific words like ‘pistol’ ‘rifle’ although I have been blocked in the past, and able to proceed with the same prompt using a different model.  Go figure. :-(

I wish my drill would do that - or it could be that I haven’t found the button yet! 😁

I recognise the image, Jacob, but where is the drill?

I recognise the policeman from Jacob’s favourite vintage soap opera Heartburn.  Or is it Dixon of Loch Ness?  You know, with the right gearing, and with one funicular car counterbalancing the other, a decent cordless drill could power those cars.
