Hi

I am new to photoshop

When I export a file to the print shop they have to reside my images, I was hoping there is a action template where I can save.

What i would like to know how to make a template so I can export out of LR  into PS template which will snap into the size I wish to be printed, and I can see just how the final image looks.

regards

malcolm

Hi Malcolm.  I don't use Lightroom I am afraid, but if you open Photshop and start a New Document, and click on the Print tab and choose the print size you want.

Or, if it is not there, set it up on the right (Preset Details).

Click on the Save icon (green highlight), it will be there in the Saved tab going forward.

Save your image from Lightroom (I am sure there will be a more direct method) and choose File > Place embedded and the imported image will automatically fit the preset, but may have white borders either top and bottom, or either side, if the imported image does not have the same aspect ratio as the document preset.

You might like to set your Preferences like below

    Hi

If you are not changing the aspect ratio, you could just set up an export preset in Lightroom to the size you need. That will take care of pixel size, limiting file size , conversion to sRGB etc
