The issue with a LIFETIME LICENSE

Hi, I have an issue with my Adobe and can't get the help from virtual assistance.
I bought CS6 in 2012 and it was promised I will have a lifetime license. Yesterday I got a message on my computer, that my Adobe is illegal and it will stop to work in 10 days. What's going on? I don't want to subscribe monthly, I'm happy with my CS6 and want to use it for next few years or lifetime if I will wish. This is what I paid for. Please help.

    @Wajgert check your terms again. You bought an educational license not a pro.

     

    I figured this was the case before you sent the screen shot which confirms it.

     

    If you are no longer a student/teacher then the license is invalid and customer care will not be able to convert you to a Pro license.

     

    The reason I suspected is there have been a rash of these recently and all were users attempting to use Educational licensing well past their terms.

      You say you bought a lifetime license but then that you bought an educational license. Which was it?

      Either way, D Fosse is correct. You need to contact Adobe regarding a license issue, users on the forum cannot resolve it.

        Contact Customer Care on chat and ask why the serial number has been revoked.

        I think if you type "agent" you'll bypass the ai and get an actual human (correct me if I'm wrong someone).

         

        There is in any case nothing we as users can do about licensing issues.

          It's incorrect, Adobe sent lifetime licenses till 2019 :), I bought it in 2012 as a lifetime...

          If you're no longer enrolled at the institution, the license is invalid. Then you need a regular license. There is no such thing as a lifetime educational license.

           

          Back in the day, you could upgrade normally to a standard license, but obviously you can't "upgrade" CS6 now. So your only option is a subscription to the Photography Plan at $10 a month.

            Yes, the version was educational (for students and teachers). What does it mean that the edu email is no longer valid? 
            For sure it's installed only on my computer, nobody else has an access to it.

            @Wajgert can you share a screenshot of the message? The message I am thinking of only comes up if you had an Educational version and the .edu email is no longer valid, or the license key was installed on more than 2 machines.

            They don't allow to talk to a real person if I don't subscribe CC ;). Absurd. I send the message to Adobe on their fb - let's see if they will help

            Of course :). I bought it in 2012 directly from Adobe and used it for all these years, never had this issue, it's legal.
