Hi,

(reposted as original deleted by myself)

I paste into a .psd photo a second scene with grass and trees and tarmac, to replace non Humans and barriers, and see that the added grass is more saturated and more yellowy, perhaps also the trees, however I need the grass to match the foreground grass what is the best method. Selecting the gras would in some cases involve capturing all the grass baldes, take to long, and auto methods too inaccurate, a means of selecting the grass and its range of greens with a click as a start point, then adjusting hue and saturation etc, however I find the hue adjustment tool too fierce and false, one nudge right is often too much, the increments are too much of a change. since Pshop 30 yrs or so ago its been like that, a real pain. And AI that uses up 5 credits is no goo as I have hundreds of pics to do.

Cheers

Merlin

A Hue/Saturation adjustment layer would work.

Click on the little hand icon, and then click on the new grass.

This will select a colour range that you can see via the sliders on the colour bars at the bottom of the properties panel.  You can drag those sliders to expand or contract the colour range.

Then use the Hue, saturation and lightness to adjust.

You will still need to mask out other areas of green/yellow with the layer mask.

But what I would try first nowadays is the Harmonize tool.

You need to post an example so we know what we’re discussing.

All I can say with the information given here, is that Selective Color is generally the best tool to deal with situations like this.

I quite like Color Balance as a quick fix.  If it’s too red, nudge towards the cyan. If too yellow, nudge towards the blue.  What might be a problem is that it is subjective and relies on the user’s opinion.  OK for someone like me that doesn’t care too much about perfect colour, but for someone in your position Dag, it has to be spot on.  I was thinking much the same thing in the thread about fixing a historically important art piece. It’s more specialised for most of the regular posters here to give reliable advice.  I almost tagged you, and would have done if I thought you’d missed the thread.
