When I do an action and save in a folder, all it does when I run it is to replace the file

When I do an action and save it in a folder, all it does when I run it is replace the file in the destination folder, even if I run the action on 1000 images, all I get in the destination folder is 1 file... what am I missing?

Make sure the file name is not highlighted (marked in blue) in the Save dialog when you record the action.

If it is, the file name is recorded in the action and so it keeps overwriting. If it is not highlighted, the file name is not recorded and the file keeps its original name.

To "un-highlight" the name, it is usually enough to click another destination folder and then back.
