2019 PS Elements and Organizer Hangs

After a couple of years dealing with Organizer 14's problem with hanging to the point of it being useless, I finally upgraded to PS Elements 2019 for Mac a few months ago. Now that version 2020 has been released, my 2019 version is back to changing screens so slowly that it is almost unusable again. Is this just my imagination or is there some connection here? I don't want to be forced to purchase every update that is released in order for the system to function.
