I just wanted to trial newest PSE 8 on Mac, but it behaves really strange after install.

First it said that "there are some problems with your trial" after install. I restarted my Macbook Pro, and then it just show simple window with message:

"Licensing for this product has stopped working... Error: 150:30".

Well, how can I try your shiny new PSE, Adobe?

Maybe it could be useful to know the solution I found to a similar problem. I solved it by using an Apple Script.

Please see the LAST message in the discussion published here:

Your problem maybe was similar but in our case deleting this folder does not help at all.

Thanks for trying to help however.

Well, Adobe seems to sell Elements 9 already. Wonder if it's working on our system settings. Perhaps could Adobe make a kind of special offer to us.  It would be a nice gesture from Adobe to the buyers - kind of fulfillment. Or it is no longer important things like a customer around Adobe any more?

    Any news on this matter?

Several months passed since release, and such annoying problem is not addressed by Adobe in any way.

I'm gonna search for crack. That makes me simply sick.

No wonder Apple is not going to go with Flash on iPhone.

Hello, this is my first post here. I am using Photoshop Elements on Mac OSX 10.5.8 (actually, I have just bought PSE…). The general system language of the computer is Italian. The PSE 8 language is English. I would let you know that I have a similar problem: a message "Licensing stopped working" appears every first time I launch PSE after each restart of my Mac. Fortunately, it seems that launching it a second time works well (no errors from the second time onwards: I can launch PSE as many times as I want without problems, until I restart my Mac the next time).

I repeat: this happens with OSX 10.5.8, *Italian* language, PSE in an English edition (English Edition for Europe, I see on the box, not for America).

I spent two hours today following all the instructions on the Adobe forums, including the official technical note, deleting the FLEXnet Publisher folder, using the LicenseRecovery tool properly, changing permissions, all according to the instructions, but it did not solve the problem.

After that, I decided to keep launching PSE 8 twice, since it is only a minor annoyance… but, well, it is disturbing, and I really hope that an update will be released as soon as possible.

I decided to write this since I had not read yet on this forum about problems with Italian language versions: I hope it will be useful to Adobe.

(P.S. Should I notify the problem to any official Adobe support service?)

I've had the problem continue.  I've now installed the official patch:

[Re: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Mac - "Licensing stopped working" on trial...

    Hi All,

Here is an official tech note link for the "Licensing has stopped working" error which many of the Mac users have faced for English locale.

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51260.html

It contains many proposed solutions to fix the issue, one of them is what I mentioned above for deleting the "FLEXnet Publisher" folder. Also, it contains an updated LicenseRecovery111.dmg toolkit which is updated to fix the issue for PSE 8 Mac(English) specifically. Those of you who are facing this issue, please try it out and let us know if the issue is still unresolved.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Ankush]

Worked at first attempt.  Assume that's fixed the problem for me, unless I'm back grumbling again.

    All the best.

Neither official patch nor all the possible solutions presented work for polish locale. It sucks to say it, but eventually I gave up and went the crack way.

I am quite happy with Lightroom 2, but after PE8 adventures I will not buy any Adobe software ever again.

Would someone by so kind and give me some hints where to find and how to use warez software to make PSE8 work on my Mac with Polish as a main language ?

Adobe is totally ignoring this problem.

    BTW BobGager wrote:

I've checked the packaging of my copy of PSE8 - there's absolutely nothing about supported languages on the box, in the 'Getting Started' booklet or DVD case (PSE8 purchased in one of the Apple Stores, UK).

Firma Adobe zaprezentowała polską wersję językową Photoshop  Elements 8 – przyjaznego oprogramowania do zarządzania i obróbki  grafiki.

    Hi All

Guess what...................I've got it ALL working. Just to recap. Migrated all my files etc from my old iMac to my new iMac and then downloaded PSE v8. Went to run it and came up with the problem 'Licensing stopped working'. Tried everything to resolve the problem. Finally, removed v8 from my system because I still had v6 on my system.

Went to open v6 and found that v6 came up with the same problem...............................

Anyway, got a lot of help from Adobe in India. Removed ALL and EVERYTHING Adobe, upgraded OSX to 10.6.2 reinstalled v6 and it worked. Played around with it, with out any problems.

Went and downloaded PSE v8 again, installed it with out any problems and hey presto..............it worked and still is working.

I would like to thank ANKUSH VED for all his help in sorting out my problem and please everybody just bear with them, as they are sorting out all the issues.

    Regards

    Hi Guys,

Those of you who are facing this issue after installing PSE in English locale on a English OS, can try to delete the following folder from the machine and then launch PSE again to see if this is working fine now?

    \Library\Preferences\FLEXnet Publisher\

(Delete the complete "FLEXNET Publisher" folder by moving it to trash and subsequently Empty the Trash.)

NOTE: After doing the same you might have to re-enter the serial number for other Adobe products installed and activated on the machine again.

The step made PSE 8 start working for one of the user I was working with so I thought of sharing with all people here. Once, tried please let us know as well whether it did the trick or not.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hey folks:

As Ankush mentions, we are keenly aware of this problem.

There are actually two issues here:

First one is that when PSE8 is launched on systems that are not of the supported languages, this Licensing Has Stopped Working error occurs.

the only way to work around this one is to switch your system to a supported language.

Please note, the supported languages are clearly defined at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelmac/systemreqs/ and on the product packaging.

Second one is that occasionally, this bug occurs when launching in a supported language. For most folks, as Barbara mentions, the workaround is to simply try and launch PSE8 again. In this thread, there seems to be a few folks who are running in a supported language, and relaunching doesn't work. See Ankush's note above for a workaround if you're faced with this situation.

Rest assured that we are working on getting to the root cause, and understanding what it will take to get a fix out. We don't yet have enough info to convey when an update could happen. That does not mean we're not working on it.

Sorry for the hassle, and thanks for your patience here.

    Cheers

    Bob

    Hi, Bob!

Thanks for the info. Hm, I thought system requirements do NOT mention the system language version but the application language versions. Previously I used both English and Polish PSE versions on Polish language version of Windows XP. No problems there. Now, on my Mac with English set as the system language PSE 8 could be launched only ONCE after deleting FLEXNet folder AND restarting the machine. No restart equals no possibility to launch PSE again. This is why I returned PSE8 and got my money back.

    And guess what?

I installed my PSE6 for Mac with the same language versions possible (i.e. English, French, German and Japanese) on my machine with Polish set as the system language and there are no problems at all! FLEXNet-something generates NO unnerving messages.

Can the licensing module be taken from PSE6 to PSE8?

    Best regards!

    Hi All

Went and got myself the new 21.5" iMac this week, running OSX 10.6.1, was running the v6 of PSE on old iMac so I treated myself to v8. Had migrated all my files from my old Mac with no problems.

Paid for and downloaded PSE v8, installed on new iMac and got error message '150:30' Followed all instructions to fix problem. Still does not work. Removed v8, then found that v6 didn't work - same error message.

Raised support question and will have to wait up to 3 days for an answer. I just feel that after paying £66 for a download that does not work, a little hissed off so why are Adobe still selling it.

    Regards

As noted above, I had this problem on my Mac (10.5.8) with the trial version. It seemed to go away during the last week of use. It failed when I tried to open an image from Lightroom, or sometimes when I right-clicked and tried to open. Then it stooped having the problem, although I had done nothing special to resolve it.
