I just wanted to trial newest PSE 8 on Mac, but it behaves really strange after install.

First it said that "there are some problems with your trial" after install. I restarted my Macbook Pro, and then it just show simple window with message:

"Licensing for this product has stopped working... Error: 150:30".

Well, how can I try your shiny new PSE, Adobe?

Just another case of pse 8 not working on an imac 24" 3.06 GHz running OS X 10.6.1 with Polish as a main language.

I've just purchased pse 8 from the Apple store. I had a previous version of pse installed on my imac (which BTW was working absolutely fine), so I uninstalled it using the unistaller from the pse 6 disc, installed pse 8 and.... bang ! - I got this lovely message on my screen (error 150:30, licensing stopped working etc.).

I've tried every single suggested solution (repairing disc permissions, deleting FLEXnet lib etc) - obviously nothing works (except changing the language to English of course).

SInce I've opened the box I am unable to return it to Apple so I'm stuck with the software I paid 75 quids for and which I cannot use (changing languages all the time is not an option)

Will we ever see this update ?

Interesting that most of these cases  can be solved by switching to English. Mine, however, shows the error and all I have used is English. I can usually restart it after the error message by simply clicking on it again, but not always. Occasionally, I do have to shut down the computer and restart. This error message always occurs on the first attempt to start it. I am still using  Leopard 10.5.8

    Ther same case here,

The only solution to start PSE8 is to change language to English. No other tricks mentioned work.

What is interesting, when language is changed after PSE8 is run for the first time, is starts ok

    until next reboot or log-out.

I am going to put a bigger HDD into my iMac in the near future and I think installing OS and all the apps from scratch will take less time than trying to solve the unsolvable. I promise that the first application to be installed after Leopard will be PSE 8. Then there will be an upgrade to Snow Leopard and the rest or vice versa. I'll let you know the result.

Regards and greetings to all afflicted!

I managed for the first time to successfully launch PSE 8 Mac.

It was after I switched Snow Leopard language to 'English' from my native 'Polish'.

So - is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Mac not compatible with 'Polish' (and possibly other non-English) systems?

After your post, I also tried changing the system locale to different dsplay languages to see if the issue is with everyone and found that this error dialog does come up in case of Polish,Russian and Turkish display languages while PSE works fine on all the other locales like French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Brazilian Potuguese.

So we cannot say that is a No-Go for non-english locales but yeah there is definately some issue with some locales.

    Hi!, WujekDR and Ankush Ved!

Indeed, changing the system language to English does the trick! However, I would like to use my mother tongue, ie. Polish, as the system language! I don't like the idea of changing system preferences every time I want to edit some photos. This is why I will probably return PSE8, get my money back and stick to the previous version, that is PSE6.

Or... I wonder if the box version of PSE8 behaves similarly? I bought PSE8 as an upgrade to my box PSE6. Does anyone know the answer?

    Regards!

Before taking all this drastic action, just try starting elements again after clicking the OK button. I get this message pretty much daily and usually all I really have to do is to relaunch PSE to get rid of it.

Did you by any chance installed the Pre Release builds of PSE 8.0 on your machine?

Try the below link and see if it works..

Let us know if that helped,

    Well...

I have quite fresh OS X 10.6 install. Never tried pre release builds, or any other Adobe software on this system...

And to TEST newest PSE I have to go thru TEN different solutions...?

    Nothing works.

    I tried:

    1. Starting PSE from new administrator account
    2. Deleting Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet folder
    3. Restarting
    4. Running License Recovery Tool.

I really want to test this...
