Automating with Actions

Hello Community!

This is my first question on here as I just joined.  I'm attempting to record a process for Automation from start to finish and hoping to add Batch files as well however, I am not seeing and/or able to open the Actions panel in Photoshop when navigating to Window -> Actions or by pressing Alt+F9 within the Toolbar above.  The "Actions" option is simply not there in the Drop-down List when it should be.  Could it be that not all the features are available in the version of the Program that I have?  Shall I talk to the Administrator who handles the Licensing?  I'm currently using Photoshop Elements 10.  Any information in regards to this will be helpful.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you MichelBParis - Do you happen to know what version(s) of Photoshop (which is similar to Elements) that does support and have the option of creating, recording, and executing Actions along with the Batch Files feature?

    Hi

The only Photoshop version you can now get from Adobe is Photoshop CC. It is only sold on subscription though - there is no facility for outright purchase. It does support actions and batching.

There are various plans - the cheapest monthly cost being the Photography plan which gets you Photoshop and Lightroom for less than the monthly cost of Photoshop alone. It is a 12 month plan though paid monthly.

    Hi
I've moved your post from the Photoshop forum to the Photoshop Elements forum where you will be more likely to get an answer relevant to your application. I don't uise elements so cannot confirm whether Elements has an action panel - but hopefully you will get a response fairly quickly.

No Elements version supports creating actions. Only playing actions created specifically for Elements features.
