Camera Raw won't install or open with Elements 2023

I was using Camera Raw 14.4 with my 2021 version of Elements. Now I have the 2023 version and trying to install 15.1, but it gives me the error code 131. I've installed the installer and clicked on help in the program to install the add on. No go.

I use RAW all the time for my drone DNG picture and now I'm locked out.

It may be the installer having problems with writing to files that are in use by PSE. I got the same issue but the solution in my case was to start the installer (leave it where you enter install location etc.) then close the PSE and continue with the installation.

From within the photoshop elements 2023 editor were you trying to

install camera raw by going to Help>Install Camera Raw?

Having the same issue, just upgraded from PSE2019 to 2023, Tech Support spent 1.5 hours and tech was unable to make it work. He will escalate the issue. Macbook Pro M1 user here.

Did you use the Help>Install Camera Raw installer first? That will install Camera Raw 15.0. Why do you need Camera Raw 15.1 for a drone DNG? You will not be getting any added features.

What do you mean by locked out? The 131 error is being seen by others. It may be a server problem that will be resolved if you try again. I am trying to confirm that.

Added: Actually, I'm not sure which version is installed natively in Elements 2023 as I have updated it to 15.0 using the workaround mentioned in my linked post above. But whatever it is, you will not get any benefit by updating it, unless that is the only way to get ACR to open.

The new camera Sony A7 R V

requires Camera raw 15.1 . So it is not working in Elements 2023 yet.
