Question

Elements 15 process multiple files setting?

I've worked with older models of elements doing batch conversions, and once I've created my settings then hit "ok" to begin the conversion, it'll run through all of the files with nothing else needed from me. However, when I use elements 15, every file opens then prompts me to set the compression quality before converting the file from tiff to pdf.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is this a new feature of elements 15? Is it just a tiff to pdf issue I'll have to live with? I've searched around and found no explanations of this function, which makes me think I'm missing something.

Thanks in advance.

As far as i can tell from some quick testing, every photoshop elements version 4 thru 15 on both mac and windows does that.

Photoshop elements versions 1 thru 3 on both mac and windows don't get that dialog.

That's what I suspected.

Also there is no option in the organizer to export as PDF.

I'd like to stress that the Elements editor saves files as 'Photoshop PDF', that is a format combining a PDF like Acrobat, plus the original format of the image.

- the result is a very big file for tiffs or psd

- but it opens directly in Elements even if it has been saved with layers, selections... as well as in Acrobat or any PDF reader.

- that format is the only one now supported in the Elements 15 Organizer (pure 'Acrobat' PDFs are no longer supported')

I must say that I would use a third party free converter like FastStone Viewer for batch conversion from tiff to psd.

What operating system are you using?

Could you post a screenshot of the settings your using in the Process Multiple Files dialog?

If you have an older version of photoshop elements installed, do those same exact files work in that version

without generating the compression quality dialog and also what version is your older photoshop elements?
