I don't think launching the Organizer should ever result in a request for a serial number.  However, you do have to sign into your Adobe account.  Is that what happened?  A serial number is only requested when you launch Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements.

Have you previously launched the program on the computer?  Have you installed it on more than one computer?  If so, you may have been required to sign out of one of your computers and you are now getting a message to sign into your Adobe registered account.

As Greg rightly mentioned, launching the Elements Organizer shouldn't request for the serial number. You'll only need to sign into your Adobe account. Please clarify if that's what you experienced.

    Thanks,

Did you try entering your serial number?
