Dissapointed that the windows version doesnt support HEIF.

Is 2019 faster? better? Worth the upgrade cost or no?

Why do you want HEIF with Windows?

You are asking "Why would we want HEIF with Windows"?

Because it's a file format used by Apple, not just a minor device manufacturer.

Because many houses have mixed OSes so the ability to manage photos used by all devices would be helpful.

Because it's a new release of the software and the file format is supported in the macOS version.

Because Adobe is supposed to be a premier vendor in photo editing/management space.

As it stands, I am stuck with an older version Photoshop Elements on Windows and can't use it to edit or manage photos used by 50% of our household devices.  I was looking to upgrade today, but now realised there's no point!!

I guess I have no option but to batch-convert HEIF images to JPEG.  Ugh.

Unless you have changed the default settings on your iDevice, I believe the HEIF images will be automatically converted to jpeg when you download to a Windows machine.
