Elements not working

Elements is getting worse by the day. It takes several minutes for it to do anything including bringing up photos to work on. EVERY OPPERATION  seems to be moving at the speed of glue! I tried to do an update but the word "update" is greyed out and can not be used. This elements program is getting un-usable. I have a zoom meeting coming up where I am to show how I do things and I'm afraid your software is going to prevent me from doing the meeting.
