Hello,

When I start a photo collage projects there are only three sizing options:

210 * 297 mm

297 * 210

300 * 300

How can I change the background sizing to for example 5*7 or 8*10 to print easily?

Otherwise I have to print at the larger size of 297 * 210 and hope that where I order photos from resizes properly without squishing it.

Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

The answer is to create you own collage without using the 'Photo collage' feature of the Organizer.

Remember that Elements has always been a favourite for scrapbookers because it allows working with layers and masks, layer styles and much more. True, you need some learning about layers to begin, but the result is so much more flexible. And it can be fast as well as creative.

    - Depending on your output (home printer of printing service) you define your empty background : the 'canvas'. You can use ready made papers, create patterns, gradients, photos, textues... You choose the size and resolution.

    - You 'place' your photos as layers over the canvas. You resize, rotate, transform them. You change the order in the layer palette to overlap as you want.

    - You add layer styles to each layer (drop shadows, bevels)

    - you add your text or shape layers

    - you can use masks, use brushes... anything used in scrapbooking.

The result is a layered file in .PSD format.

You just have to create a jpeg copy to print or send to printer.

It's the same if you want to create a book. You create freely your own pages. All book printers allow creating books by uploading jpeg pages.
