"randomly chrasing without any error codes"

"freezing whole systems when open"

"Blackscreen on one or more Monitors randomly"
".exe´s from any program randomly crashing since the update"

"task manager wont open when premiere pro crashing"

"failed to load importer 39"
and so on...

every bug or error that i just described NEVER EVER happend before on my system. it started all when i updated to 24.0 and even when im downgrading to 23.6 or lower. NOTHING CHANGES.

Report your errors and Bugs below here so we can talk to each other to get some fixes done so that we can work normal again.

Turns out that nothing helps, not even the newest update for 24.0 as soon as i start PP i get the notification that adobe is running low on system memory while 100GB free on C, 260GB free on D 200 GB free on E and 944 GB free on my external and importer 39 still fails to load. this pops up as soon as i click into the timeline. i dont even know why it says that PP is running on low system memory. i simply dont get it because this error appeard the first time since the update and pops now also up in older versions, never happend before, not even in my big project. i dont know how many times i said this now. this was not happening any time in the past year with Premiere Pro on my setup.

Doesn't matter whether it's Adobe or whoever. I also work in Resolve, work for/with teach pro colorists based mostly in
Resolve, and know of the troubles many have had with various builds of 18.x. It's always wise to test first ...

And with the Adobe CC system, you can do so easily enough. As you can have multiple major versions installed. With Resolve, you can't. And it's database system makes upgrading a one-way trip ... period.

With a CC app, install the newest major version but UNCHECK THE "REMOVE PRIOR VERSIONS" option!

Even if you have that unchecked in the prefs, they always have that 'on' in the install dialog for new versions. Do NOT let that by you!

Then ... on launch of the new version, dump all cache files. Create a new project, go to the MediaBrowser panel, and select an older project file. Import the assets of that project ... that way, the old project is untouched.

Now ... test the new major version. If it works, great ... if not, don't worry.

Just close, open the one you've been working in, and get on with Life.

I'll be honest unless there's a reason for trying version 24 my suggestion for a fix would be to downgrade to the previous version. That's generally the easiest and quickest solution.

From what I've learned being with Adobe almost never update to the newest version when they release it (going from 23 to 24). I always try and wait until they release the .2 of the newer version because they never seem to get it right on the initial launch. I went against my best judgement this time and updated becuase I saw they said they've increased the timeline drawing speed 5x lol. While premiere works it runs way slower than 23.6 did for me. I can't scrub through my timeline without major lag. It's one of the "joys" of Adobe and the major reason I'm thinking about switching to Davinci. The only reason I haven't is I've invested a lot of money into plugins for premiere so they've got me in a bit of a headlock.

Most of "us" here are volunteers, of course, like Ann, Warren, Richard, Michael, so many others. We've all been through the ringer from time to time. And it's a great bit of practical knowledge on how this set of apps function that gets shared here.

So keep posting with issues, give full details when useful ... and we all hope you get operating soon!

@Ann Bens as i wrote it down already, it was working normal on 23.6 and i edited alot of Videos and Reels in 4k with alot of effects and transitions and i had no problems before. But yes, i need more RAM of course. I know that and i want to upgrade but since i had no problems so far i thought its not that necessary at the moment.

@R Neil Haugen Thank you for sharing your experience and your workflow for things like this. I'll try your steps as recommended and report back. I know that it might not help because i already did it wrong but we'll see.

As a user of a bit over a decade, I fully understand the mess and pain you're in.

That was unfortunately not a safe way to upgrade from one major version to another, as many of us here routinely advise on. First, make sure the "remove previous versions" box IS NOT CHECKED ... on the install dialog.

Unfortunately, even if like me, you have that unchecked in the CC app Prefs, they still make it the default for some reason on major version updates. Which often leads to massive problems. Like yours.

For upgrading to a new version, to me, the safer version is to install the new version without removing the previous version. On launching the new version, see to it that all cache files are dumped.

Then ... I recommend creating a new project file, then from the MediaBrowser panel, importing the assets of a previous project, rather than "opening" the project.

Then test the workflow in the new version.

This leaves the prior version and all it's projects untouched, and you can continue working in them if you need to.

Once everything's gone to Hades like you're having ... and I've been there myself, of course! ... it's hard to get going smoothly again. And I totally sympathize with you.

My comments come from painful personal experience.

16 gig of ram is a bit on the lean side.

At least 32 gig for editing 4K.

Processor : AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor
RAM : 16GB RAM 3000MHZ
GPU : Geforce 1660 SUPER Overclocked
Mainboard : B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
Windows 10
3 SSDs
newest gpu drivers
newest drivers overall on my system.

I was working on 23.6 on my big wedding project wich has 327 Videos in it. all media used was hvec 4k mp4 clog 3 stuff. everythign was working normal on 23.6 until i made the update. i made the update, started PP again and PP asked me to convert the old project into the new version of PP. i clicked yes and as soon as the project was loading everything fell apart and everythign is lagging on my computer as soon as the project is open, it doesnt even matter if i open another project with less media and smaller media. it doesnt work.  i get 700 errors by once that importer 39 failed to load or some frames couldnt be used. not a single effect is on the media and i have no third party extension. i downgraded to older versions of PP wich seem to work but only for a couple of minutes and than it starts again, also to mention is that my RAM ramps up to 99% usage wich also never happend before and never happend before in the 327 video project . media get flagged as "offline" while its literally there and i didnt moved a thing. i have to relink every single clip and when this is not working i have to copy the files onto another ssd and give it new name to make it work in premier again. also to mention is that my media is sitting on a 2tb external SSD because its way too much for my interal ssds. I dont know how many times i deleted the cache in 5 days now, reinstalled PP on another SSD but its not working as it was before. every project is not working anymore and all my projects are from version 23.6. And also to mention is that i get a new notification wich also NEVER EVER appeard before "adobe is running low on system memory" . i cant describe it any better. this is what i have since the update to 24.0 and it still appears when i downgrade to older versions. also to mention is that i really really want to make a useful crash report but i dont even get the crash report window, it either just closes or i have to restart my computer because my explorer.exe also crashing sometimes. something doesnt seem right. im kinda scared that my work from the past 3 weeks is gone now because of this, my client is already not in the best mood wich i can understand because deadline was yesterday.

There's a several seconds lag after every mouse click. See the 3 second of the video where I try moving the Playhead and it actually moves on the 6 second. Then on the 15 second I press Play and the playing starts on the 18th second. And so on. In the rest of the video it is clearly seen that 3-4 seconds pass after I move the playhead and it starts to move (hense the mouse moving from side to side). The cache cleaning advice is never helpful - but I did it several times and reset the preferences with the shift - of no avail
