32-bit PNGs disappear from the program monitor when animating their positions

Steps to reproduce:

1. Import a 32-bit PNG image with alpha.

2. Drag the image onto the timeline.

3. In the Effect Controls panel, click the clock icon next to "Position" to set a keyframe.

4. Click and drag on either the X or Y position values.

Expected: i should see the image moving left/right or up/down in the program monitor

Actual: The image vanishes from the program monitor while the position values are being adjusted, and reappears when i release my mouse button. This makes it extremely difficult to position the image, as i have to guess where it is, and then release the button to see if i'm correct.

i don't know if this happens only with 32-bit images, or only when animating Position, but these steps are 100% reproducible on multiple systems, and the bug has been in the software for at least the last 5 years.

No weird settings over here. i updated the driver — the issue's no longer happening.

Hi @Untold Entertainment Inc. - I'm unable to reproduce this issue.  Can you try updating to the latest Studio currently 572.83.  Do you have any features turned on in the Nvidia App, or have any custom setttings in the Nvida control panel?

i'm on a GeForce RTX 4090. Driver version is 32.0.15.6636.  64gb ram, to answer your next question. 🙂

But this issue was happening consistently on the machine i used before this one, with different (poorer) specs. Like i said, i've seen it in the software for years.

Update: looks like i can't upload a zip, and if i rename the file to one of the accepted formats, it complains that it's over the kilobyte limit. Let me know if there's somewhere else i can drop it.

Sure thing - i have a project zipped up. Not sure how to upload/attach it?  Here's a complete set of steps that i followed to reproduce the issue in a new file:

1. Create the new file
2. Import some assets - in this case, it's D01.mov and ponziScheme.png
3. In the Project folder, create a new Sequence
4. Drop the D01 footage onto the timeline and select "Change Sequence Settings" to match the footage
5. Drop the ponziScheme.png graphic into the V2 layer
6. With the PNG selected, click the clock next to Position in the Effect Controls panel
7. Click and drag either the x or y position value. The png disappears while making these adjustments, and reappears when i release my mouse button.

This particular PNG and piece of footage are not the issue - this happens to me all the time when trying to animate PNGs in Premiere Pro.
