Audio Needs to Repeatedly Conform

23.1.0 (Build 86)

Windows 11

Impor video clips with audio that requires Premiere's Audio Conform process to generates .PEK files for editing. "Save .caf and .pek files next to originals when possible" is checked in Media Cache settings.

The expected behavior is that once these conform files are generated and the project is saved, they will not need to be generated again as long as the files remain next to the original sources. Even when opening the project on a different computer.

Actual result is that upon reopening the project the conform files need to be regenerated even when the first generation of files are present and next to the original sources. (see attached screenshot) This conform process can be lengthy depending on the number and length of the video clips that have been imported.

Happens most frequently when opening a project on a different computer than the one the files were originally conformed on. However, I always make sure the conform files are saved next to the sources because this is supposed to be the best way to prevent the conform process from happening again. This procedure more often than not doesn't prevent the conform files from needing to be regenerated.

This is a shame for Adobe. It's yeats that many user have this problem and there is not a good reason for it.

It seam that when some app manage the video file Premiere thinks thst  some change has happen and then do the conforming again and again. Premiere is too diligent.

Hello @RyanShepard,

Thanks for the message. I'm not seeing many upvotes or comments here. Are you still having this issue? The team will need more info from you to reproduce the bug. Can you provide the information required here? How do I write a bug report?

I'll move your post to the Discussions board while we await your information.

Thanks,

Kevin
