Question

Audiotrack (wave) displayed wrong

Audiotracks (belonging to video) are displayed wrongly. The audio itself is correct, only the wavetrack shows the waves wrong. When I zoom in far enough on the timeline, the wave becomes correct. When I zoom out, the wave becomes wrong again. I have already tried resetting cache, preferences and reinstalling the whole program.

Could you share more details about the video file using MediaInfo?

It would be helpful to know specifics such as:

  • Video codec
  • Audio codec
  • Sample rate
  • Bit depth (if available)

This information can help determine why the audio waveform might not be displaying correctly in Premiere Pro.

Hi @zelov38 - We need a few more details to help you.  What type of media files are you working with?  What version of Premiere Pro are you on?  What are your computer specs?

Hey Jamie, I don't think a screenshot is going to do anything, because it does still display an audiowave, it just displays the wrong one (or maybe it's shifted or mixed or something). In a screenshot you won't be able to hear any sound, so there is no way for you to tell if the wave is correct or incorrect, and so I don't see how a screenshot is going to give you any more information than I'm telling right now. Also, I decided to just ask this as a question on the forum instead of write a bug report because it's a bug that I've been having for quite a while now, and I also read some other people having the same bug, so I assumed that it had been reported before plenty of times, and I just came here to hopefully get a solution.

Hi @zelov38 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How do I write a bug report?

Can you upload a screenshot and describe what you mean by incorrect?

Sorry for the frustration.
