BUG REPORT: Markers disappear

Working in 12.1.1 I've had two instances of all my markers vanishing from timelines (different projects). One of them is a project I've been working on for 7 months and was a very long timeline with a tonne of information in the markers! Please investigate.

I just had the same issue happen to me. I marked 3 hours worth of interview footage, and suddenly half of my markers have disappeared. This is a huge time waster, I am very disappointed.

My markers are all gone from two long interviews,I reiterate what was said in each response to quickly find what I need. All gone, and also the markers all disappeared from the older autosaved versions. This is rough! Version 12.1.1

I had the same problem today. But I discovered the reason why all my markers disappeared from my sequence: I put it in the source viewer and click the "open sequence in timeline" property in the tools. Since then, bam, no m ore markers.
But I could get them back. I opened an older autosave version and copy-paste the same timeline with the markers in the current project.
It's still a big issue though. Adobe should work on it quickly

I noticed that before it happens on my computers that you can’t see new markers being added to the sequence.

If I close the sequence and reopen it, they work normally again. If I close the project when the bug kicks in, I lose markers entirely.

I can't believe this. It's over a month since last post and I'm having the exact same issue now. I've transcribed nearly 30 hours of footage using markers, and now they're suddenly all gone. That's over a week of hard work! Can someone tell me how to get them back? Is there a way to retrieve them while waiting for Adobe to finish their coffee and fix this?

My producer just spent a few hours marking a timeline and lost it all due to this bug. It's been about two months now... any word on this one?

Yes, I can have them open an auto save, import a sequence, copy the markers and delete the old sequence but... they shouldn't have to do that. It's messy and it makes me look like an idiot for choosing to cut a 5x30 in this mickey mouse program.

This is an ongoing and serious bug. Work just disappears. It seems more unstable when adding markers to a sequence as opposed to a clip. They just suddenly disappear. SAS should not mean constant and ongoing beta testing of buggy software by your paid users.

Agreed - in addition to markers disappearing, colors also change - like you might make a marker red, and then it goes back to green. Very frustrating.

This marker issue is absolutely crushing my work flow. I do documentary style work and like to create timelines of scenes that I shoot with a lot of color-coded, very specific markers. I then load the sequence into the source window and use the keys to jump around to my marks. It's a lot of prep work, but it makes cutting stories more effective and the results are better. Now, when I load the marked sequence into the source, they disappear... for good. The only way to get them back is to quit before I save. But I still can't use them unless I never load in the source and use match frame which is a major hassle, almost defeating the purpose. I should note this used to work. I hope Adobe is on it.
