Question

Button Editor resets whenever I exit out of Premiere/Button Editor won't save custom settings

I have never had this issue before but I just switched computers and now everytime I go to set up the Button Editor how I'd like it, if I exit it completely resets it. I tried saving it as a workspace but that doesn't work. I'm not sure if it's a bug or just a setting I don't have enabled. 

 

Any help is appriciated thanks!

    when I add the button editor and quit reopening the application it remains. Can you share more information about why this does not work on your side?

    This so-called bug is very annoying: I switched over to the beta.

    I've seen this and other threads for a while. Running 23.2. Gave it a whirl. Add buttons, click OK, and I see they are there. Close PR, reopen, still there. I.e., I can't replicate.

     

    When it happens, it appears to be just that easy to demonstrate, correct?

    I am also using the latest veresion of premiere, I keep updating it whenever a new one comes out hoping it'll fix the issue, but no luck so far 😞

    The video/attachment I included in my post shows this process 🙂
    In the video I have premire open, I customize my button bar and then save and quit, when I reopen the buttons have returned to default.

      @Ann Bens Can you share exact steps to reproduce this issue. Because i am not able to reproduce this issue, on my system added all Custom buttons are remains after quit relaunch application created new project or open project.

      This has nothing to do with resetting preferences.
      On opening a project the custom (not default) buttons are not there anymore.
      Many users have complained incl myself.
      Its a bug.

      Which Premiere Pro version are you using? Have you tried on the latest build? The button editor added option remains in the panel until we reset the Preferences. if you reset the preferences it is set to default.

      yes I have tried everyting

      I use the mute fx button and loop button all the time.  Annoying I have to keep dragging them back in everytime I start premiere.
