Can't properly resizing a color matte in 2025

Trying to resize a color matte in Premiere Pro 2025, and using either the ECP or the properties panel to do it results in an image the in the playback monitor that isn't consistant. While adjust thing the scale sliders, instead of properly scaling down, it will start then the color matte will fill the program monitor even though I've reduced it's size to 5%. It's impossible to accurately turn it into a thin line. This is in the current release version.

I've had the same bug, still happening as of 26th of september 2025, with Premiere updated to the latest version. Been happening for a while now, I rarely use color mattes in this manner so it doesn't annoy me that much, but it's just frustrating that Adobe hasn't fixed an almost year old bug.

TLDR if you scale down a color matte by adjusting its scale with *uniform scale UNCHECKED* it results in a weird flickering and changing scale as you try to preview it in your timeline. Once you pause it, it looks how it shoulds (scaled down) but when you press play, it starts flickering to its default size

Hi dynamic_brilliance52418,

We're sorry about the poor experience. I am not able to reproduce this behaviour at my end. Could you please share more details about the system you are using (OS, CPU, GPU, and RAM)? If possible, would you mind sharing a screen recording of the issue or a sample project with which you are experiencing this issue? It will help us diagnose the issue properly.

Thanks,

Sumeet

It's been happening with me as well, however, it occurs with uniform scale checked or unchecked. My specs are:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080 16 GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core (4.2 GHz)
RAM: 32 GB (6000 MT/s)
MB: ASUS TUF GAMING B650
SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB

Please provide the developers with more information. See, How do I write a bug report?

Thanks,

On testing just now, it's working normally on both FHD and UHD sequences. I can't replicate.

Oooh, that's not sounding good. Gonna be at the studio in a few minutes, I'll try this myself.

Still evaluating 25.x in a single stand-alone project, haven't yet migrated my Production to it.
