Cannot Open Projects After Updating to 12.0.1 (not related to VST3 plug-ins)

I'm experiencing the same problem on Retina 5K iMac, 27-inch, Late 2015, running OS X 10.13.3, and also a 2013 MacBook Pro running 10.13.3. I do not use VST plugins. Any time I try to open an existing project, Premiere locks up and I have to force quit the application.

I found something that fixed my issue here on my machine. OS X Sierra & High Sierra both have a feature that stores the user's Documents and Desktop folders in iCloud Drive. The downside is, it appears to "hide" those folders from the system, even though they're both still there. The problem is, Creative Cloud apps store an Adobe folder in Documents, which contains data it needs to access. Even though the data is still on the system, apps like Premiere seem to no longer be able to see that info. By disabling that OS X feature in the iCloud panel of System Preferences, the Adobe folder becomes visible to the apps and the problem is solved.

However, that being said, Kevin-Monahan I'd love to see Adobe either code in a way for CC apps to check the Documents iCloud Drive folder if it can't find the local Documents folder (since it is still on the system, just in a different location), or give users the ability to move that Adobe folder in CC app preferences. While I solved the issue by turning off that OS X feature, I DO prefer to have it on, but can live without it for now. Thanks!

    Hi davidhepburn,

Thanks for bringing my attention that issue. Would you mind filing a bug? Here is the link for that. I'll further investigate to see if this could be affecting other customers on our forums.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi,

Are you using any third party plug-ins? Please let us know.

    Thanks,

The only 3rd party plug-ins we were using were from Red Giant (Colorista III, PluralEyes), and in an effort to solve this, we've uninstalled them. Still not working.

    OK David,

Based on your post I have now revised this thread to "unanswered." Looks like people are having issues. Adobe staff can you please take a look at this. Seems more serious for others.

    Thank you.
