colour matte file naming

Thank you for the response.

Let me try and explain this problem a bit more succinctly

Premier provides the option to create a colour matte which you can drop into any time line, change the colour, change its size etc

However, when you go to the drop down menu and select New black video or colour it takes a number of attempts to create the file before you can name it as a file to use later.

Selecting File-New-Black Video does not generate a new colour file, this should be immediate not after multiple attempts?

The same problem exists for. File-New-ColourMatte. A saving box will come up but you cant save the file
