Critical timeline bug after 10 seconds of using Premiere 2025

Hi there, I'm looking for some help on this 'bug' in PP25.

I usually avoid upgrading Premiere due to the new versions having frustring bugs lately. I'm unsure if this is a preferences issue but I noticed it instantly after using Premiere Pro 2025 for less than a minute.

As you can see in the video, when I try to drag a clip even just 1 frame, it readjusts my entire position on the timeline back to the start of the video. I don't know why. This happens with 100% frequency if the timeline can't see the first frame of the timeline.

Is this a settings issue? Please help me.

Hi everybody. Thanks for your replies giving me some solutions to try to sort out this issue.

An update: After encountering this issue (on the first project I created after installing the latest PP 2025), I loaded older projects into PP25 and couldn't replicate the bug.

I loaded the bugged project into a different Macbook with PP2025 and had no issue.

And by the time I had gone back to the original Macbook Pro, the timeline bug was not present.

I'm not sure what's changed, but the bug is no longer around and I've been unable to replicate it across different projects or devices. It must have just been an outlier and I was unlucky, and panicked because it happened right after upgrading to the new Premiere.

Thanks again for your support - seems fine now.

Is this a new project created in 25.x, or a project upgraded to 25.x?
