Documentation Issues - Summary April 2024
I thought I'd collect the most recent examples of documentation issues that I've posted. To my knowledge, only one of them has elicited a response by Adobe.
Source and Program monitor documentation: unclear language
Timecode documentation: confusing and misleading language
Optical Flow documentation: unclear language
Enhance Audio documentation: unclear languge
“Automatic” Audio Channels Preset documentation: Adobe rep contradicts documentation
Supported Formats documentation: weak follow-up on instructions to “transcode VFR material to CFR”
Lack of documentation on project size limitations / concerns
(Note Mitch W from Adobe did respond to this issue in thread: "we'll see if we can start providing some useful guidance in our documentation")
Lack of documentation on header bar / header bar window
Lack of documentation on metadata display fields
Lack of documentation on problematic characters / character limits in file names and file trees
Lack of documentation on numeric keypad functions and shortcuts
Lack of documentation about audio gain staging
Hardware documentation still does not list Apple Studio machines as “supported” and makes reference on the page and in the downloadable document to “M1 iMacs” and other M1 machines as if there has been no new chips since.
