Dynamic Link broken

Hello !

I feel like I need to ask for some serious help here because I don't know what to do...

I recently cleaned up my computer and deleted a lot of Premiere Pro and After Effects cache files that were taking too much space on my Finder. Then I uninstalled both software, and reinstalled them in 25.5, in order to completely reset it so that it took up less space.

Since then I feel like the Dynamic Link is broken between the two software. Everytime I use the "Replace with an After Effects composition" function, my file is replaced each time by a glitch which I attach to this message.

I tried several things:
- First check that the two software programs were exactly the same version (they were)
- Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
- Install older versions of both software
- Check the version of my computer and if the new update is not restrictive for Adobe and Dynamic Link (I have a MacBook Air with macOS Tahoe 26.1)
- Save a prproj file from Premiere Pro, launch it on After Effects, then relaunch it on Premiere Pro

Nothing works. I even deleted all Adobe software from my computer + Creative Cloud to reset everything, and reinstalled them afterwards, this glitch won't go away. I never had this problem before, whenever I used the "Replace with After Effects composition" function, it always worked.

Do you have a solution please?

Hi again guys !

First of all, thank you for the few answers I got which allowed me to “solve” my problem. @RobShultz thank you for your answer, indeed I had to reconnect each media that I connect to after effects from the Project Panel to the source media on my Finder (picture below). What I do is everytime my file becomes a glitch once opened in After Effects after the "Replace with an After Effects composition" function is used, I go to the Project Panel, select my file with a glitch, right click and select "Replace the file" (or something like that, sorry I don't use AE in english), and I just have to select my source file inside my Finder.

This isn't something I had to do before, the media connected automatically when I replaced with an After Effects composition, but I think the Dynamic Link is really broken between the two software on my computer, and it's better than nothing. Simply reconnect each media added to After Effects manually, a bit like locating a source file on Premiere Pro that has changed location on the computer.

I am content with this solution while waiting to see if the next premiere pro update will allow each media to be reconnected automatically, and that the issues related to Dynamic Link will be solved.

So any fixes for this?
I tried to download to 25.5, then 25.4 for both Pr and Ae, nothing work.
My job is runied and my life is miserable now, thank you Adobe.

I'd try highlighting the videos in your Project Panel which are unlinked (the color bars icons) right click on one of them and try following the steps to re-link them.
