Question

Error Compiling Movie - Video Preview Error

I'm constantly getting an "Error compiling movie" (Unknown Error) with no hint of what's going on. I updated to the latest version but still, this error appears. It's a simple scene with 4k video in a Full HD sequence, some music, some titles and some linked AE files. Nothing too complex.
I want to preview the scene I like to render it for preview but the error makes it impossible.

No need to say that a deadline is waiting, any help on this?

Is your GPU turned on or is the red render bar just due to all the effects in the scene?

You get this error as soon as you try to render?

What's the codec/format of the media you're working with? What was it shot on? What effects are you using?

Can you try to export your AE dynamically linked comps as self-contained files? I know it may seem more inconvenient but it's a bit more of a safe, traditional way of working. Less to go wrong now and in the future.

Hi,

yesterday I updated Premiere and it is much better now. One project did it with no problems and one had an issue with a 5frame cross dissolve. I extended the dissolve 1 frame and then it works too. A little bit strange but it looks like I can handle it after the update.

The footage is from various sources, a Sony alpha, a screen-capture and some stock material.

I never heard of self-contained files and also a google sear is not helping me what this is and how to do it 😉
Do you have a source where I can have a look at this topic?

Thanks for your time
Thomas

What PhilipJoseph is referring to with his comment on self-contained files, is that instead of dynamic linking from AE, you render out the files from AE and then import them into PPro.

This could be a source of your exporting problems, but not necessarily.
