Question

How can I merge clips correctly?

A friend recorded on his camera a play I was participating to, but his camera automatically split the video into 2 3GB videos and a 414MB video. I have them on my pc and I tried merging them in Premiere Pro but the Merge option isn't available so I tried doing it by nesting them. The problem is that I didn't like the nesting option because I can still hear that little pause between the videos. Can anyone guide me through merging them into one non-stop video?

Step 2C below will solve this for you if it's possible to do so.

Unofficial Premiere Pro Troubleshooting Guide

Take note that with QuickTime files, it's not possible to correct this problem.  Your friend either needs to change the settings on his camera to something other than QuickTime, or he needs a new camera.

Actually the easiest way is to simply lay them out in order on a sequence. Then cut any blank bits out.

R Neil Haugen is right for action camera's. But most professional cameras will include meta data that Pr uses when importing spanned clips via the Media Browser. Obviously you will need the full folder structure of the camera card and not just the video files.
