HSL Key not working correctly when basic correction applied

I'm having an issue where when i use the eyedropper tool to isolate a colour in HSL the selection is way off (if i turn the mask on the whole monitor just turns black as if there is no selection). this only happens if a basic correction has been applied. if i turn the basic correction off the eye dropper selection works as expected.
