Hi,

I can’t upgrade from the 25.2.3 version, because if I do so I experience an import issue with all .MTS files. Only with .MTS files.

In short:

  • .MTS file import works fine with version 25.2.3. I can use any .MTS files and it works just fine.
  • in later versions only the .MTS file import fails. There is no error message. Nothing happens. I cleared media cache, tried the import using the Media Browser panel rather than File and Import. I have Dolby codec installed.

I’m using Windows11 Enterprise 24H2 version. Fort he video card I use NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 576.02. We had audio issue with later NVIDIA versions in Premiere Pro therefore we are using this version.

Could you please give me solutions for the issue?

Thank you.

Okay so I installed the 26.0 version again and I successfully imported the .mts files using this method: instead of going straight to the STREAM folder I started with AVCHD → BDMV and then import STREAM folder. This way the import works.

Thank you for reaching out. :)

Hi @renáta_2617 -   Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.  Please see, How to Report a Problem?

What version of Premiere have you tried that doesn’t work for you?

I don’t believe your video card is the issue, however you should update it.  Currently the latest version is 595.97

I have worked with version 26.0 and it worked fine up until now. After experiencing the issue I tried other earlier versions and I ended up with 25.2.3.

The issue affects all of my projects (recent and old ones).

If nothing happens when you import a clip it sounds like either a bad install or bad preferences. Try to launch Premiere 26 while holding down the Shift-key. In the Reset options dialog, check “Reset app preferences” and click on Continue. Resetting the preferences often solves odd issues.

Try to import clips now to see if it works. If it still fails, un-install Premiere using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and re-install Premiere again and try now if it works.

I can import, edit and export AVCHD files here in Premiere 26.0.2 here.

For the Nvidia driver, the audio should not be an issue if you use your computers audio card rather than the audio via the Nvidia card > computer screen. If i install Nvidia drivers i can select my computer screen as the default output in Premiere but i always choose my computers audio card, in my case Realtek. In Premiere, go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware and set the Default Output there.

The driver you use is one year old and Premiere likes newer drivers, so try the latest Studio Driver 595.79. Always use the Studio Driver, not the Game Ready Driver.
