Import spanned Panasonic P2 files

We had an issue with importing long Panasonic AVC-Intra 50 spanned files.

For example, a basketball match, which lenght about 45 minutes, the camera split the recording into multiple file, not larger than 4Go (Fat32 limitation i believe).

Normal behaviour is, importing clips thru the media browser, and this clip was saw as a 45 minutes clip, and imported into the bin as well.

It doesn't work anymore. on the 24.6.1 on Mac, the media browser still see a 45 minutes clip, but after importing in the bin, the clip is now only 9 minutes (only one file was imported, not the all spanned clips)

I uninstalled the 24.6.1, and tried several version. The last one is working properly is the 23.6.9.
So there is a major issue with starting from version 24.

Does anybody had same issue ?

Past Kevin's comment, Karl Soule has posted a YouTube about the Import Page actually being as good or perhaps an even better tool for adding spanned media to projects. Especially if you need to move the file structure from card to disc, with the tools in the upper right corner of the Import page.

As something to try.

And of course, just to make sure, you got the entire folder structure from card to computer storage, right ... ?

I ask, because in consulting with someone awhile back, it turned out after a couple weeks of discussions! ... that a newly added assistant editor had grabbed the image files from their folder of the card, the audio files from their folder of the card ... rather than the folder structure. That required using the manufacturer's reading app for the media to sort out, sadly. Or something like that. What a pain.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Hello @Jean-François23363179d63g,

Thanks for the bug report. I am Kevin from Adobe Support, and I am a moderator. We are glad to have you here.

Your experience is odd. However, I have heard about similar cases with similar formats. It could be related to the audio file embedded in your file. To determine the audio codec used in your file, download MediaInfo and give us a screenshot in the "tree" view.

The team might need more information, as well. See, How do I write a bug report?

I hope the team will respond soon. Sorry for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin
