M4 Max Studio fails to see Blackmagic Ultra Studio HD Mini

Premiere Pro 2025 25.2.3 failing to recognise video connection to UltraStudio HD Mini in preferences in Prem 2025 and After Effects. But sees the audio.

Tried all the usual - re-installing drivers, checking security settings and extensions,

Mac OS is 15.4.1

Sees the HD mini in Davinci Resolve and works perfectly.

Also the box is seen in Photobooth and OBS.

Also had to put a call in to Contour Design as the ShuttlePro v2 fails to work and they admitted issues with the new M4 Max chips not being compatible with their new app.

M4 Max 16 core cpu / 40 core Gpu - 48 GB Ram / 1tb ssd

The BMD website suggests that the current version of their Desktop Video software (which includes PPro plugins) is 14.5. We'd recommend installing BMD's current drivers, and if that's not effective, reaching out to BMD for further assistance.

For anyone wanting a solution that doesn't involve rolling back - the Blackmagic driver files are available in:

/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Blackmagic DeckLink/CS7

You can copy them straight into:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

Premiere Pro 2025 will now have your Decklink available in Mercury Transmit - assume it's a bug with the BM Desktop Video installer

Solved. Rolled back premiere pro to 24.0. Reinstalled desktop video 14.5. Transmit files then appeared in the media core folder. Updated back to premiere pro 2025 latest version.

All working perfectly now. Thanks to all for help and Blackmagic help desk.

@g5dualpro2 Did you have to uninstall the newest version of Premiere Pro before installing 24.0?

Yes. Completely deinstalled 25.3.2. Then restarted the Mac. Then installed 24.0. Then updated back to 25.

Hi

Unfortunately the  DeckLinkTransmit.bundle file isn't there. I've tried re-installing premiere pro along with the bmd desktop app 10.2 (the original driver for the Ultra Studio HD mini but it doesn't install the  DeckLinkTransmit.bundle file either. So I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed.

Hi @g5dualpro2

Thanks for submitting your bug report. I'm sorry to hear you can't see your video via Ultra Studio. Was Premiere able to see this in a previous version, on this machine, or is this a new computer?  Take a look at this post and make sure you have the BMD Transmit plugin installed as well.  Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.

That behavior (and the fact that it shows up in Resolve) is 100% consistent with the system drivers being installed, but the BMD Transmit plugin not being installed.

What plugins do you see, in PPro's plugin directory?

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

[Note: That's the root /Library, not a specific User's ~/Library...]
