Morph "Error: Access to clips not possible"

I have nested two clips in a sequence, but when I want to apply the morph effect to a cut, I get the error ‘Error: Access to clips not possible’ every time. Until about halfway through my project, the morph effect worked perfectly without any problems, but now all of a sudden it no longer works. Since halfway through my project, the morph effect no longer works - even though I haven't changed anything. It worked all the time.
I have already reset the layout, completely deleted the cache of Premiere and After Effects, tried to use an older automatically saved version of my project, but the morph effect no longer works - each time I get the same error that the morph effect has no access to my clips.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Hi @Finn29239095mxsu - can you try adding cuts immediately before and after where you want the morph cut, right click > flatten multicam. Then apply the morph cut to the new cut.

I really wish people would stop giving this as a solution as it clearly has nothing to do with the issue that has plagued premiere for years. This issue happens randomly on clips in which it was working perfectly fine minutes before. Also, it happens on any clip/sequence regarldless of what video tracks are on the original sequence, so "flatten multicam" litterally does nothing as it's greyed out in 99% of the time the issue arises because there is no multicam to flatten, the software is just busted.

No, I use one monitor and have not updated Windows in the last days.

Thanks!

Issue:

Adobe Premiere Pro version number:

25.1

Operating system:

Windows 11

System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:

I9 13900K, Radeon RX 7800 XT, 64gb DDR5 5600mhz, Samsung SSD 980 Pro 2TB

Video format:

MOV-422 10-bit LongGOP

Steps to reproduce:

1. Delete an unusable part of the video
2. Remove the resulting gap by merging both clips together
3. Drag the morph effect onto both clips to create a smooth transition
4. The window with the error ‘Unable to access clips’ shows up

Expected result:

Instead of the window with the error: ‘Unable to access clips’ the window ‘Analysing in the background’

Actual result:

The window with the error ‘Unable to access clips’ shows up

Thanks!

Hi @Finn29239095mxsu,

Do you have dual monitors? Have you updated Windows lately? Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have dual monitors, but I'm running Premiere on one only, since I know it can't handle that. How would dual monitors cause Morph Cut to simply stop working altogether in mid project? A rather primitive sequence of one single video track, no nesting or anything at all but VST Audio FX?

Rebooting, restarting PP, shutting down the workstation and restarting - nothing works. It just said "I'm outta here"
