Question

My Program monitor panel goes black when using adjustment layers

I'm working within a project currently with adjustment layers at specific moments throughout. When I'm working on parts of the project that don't have adjustment layers, everything is totally fine. But when I run my playhead over anything with an adjustment layer, my program monitor goes black. I can't see anything thats being played, but I can hear audio. I've tried going to different sequences and different moments, but still, black. I even opened up other projects afterward, and the program was still black.

When exiting out and reloading premiere, the program view will be permanently stuck in the black state unless I restart my entire computer and go from there. But, then the second my playhead touches an adjustment layer, the issue comes right back.

I tried downgrading my project and going to an ealier version of premiere, but that didn't fix the issue. I also tried making a completely new project and transferring things over to that project, but that also didn't work.

I have been using nested sequences for some of the different versions of this video I've had to make, and I know sometimes premire can struggle with nested sequences, and nests within nests. But it wasn't an issue until recently, and the issue only arises when I come in contact with an adjusment layer.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just for a test, can you start a brand new project, add a clip or photo and then create a new adjustment layer and place it on top. Let us know. And take a look at Kevin's post so you can tell us some things we need to know. 🙂
