Output not matching original footage

I'm working with v24.5.0 and having an issue with my output being 1-2 stops brighter than the original footage.  I've reset the program but still getting the same result. The only way I can get a good (but not really accurate) output is to reduce the exposure or drop the white point in curves.

    What we would need is data ... screengrabs can be useful, if ... they are of the ENTIRE Lumetri panel's Settings tab ... the one named settings! ... and also the properties of your media.

     

    Clearly you are not getting the correct color management settings set.

     

    So as I don't have information, I can only guess. Not optimal.

     

    It is perhaps an HLG clip ... a form of HDR ... from an iPhone or something?

     

    I'm continuing to guess ... you put that on a Rec.709 (SDR) sequence, and used the Lumetri tools to darken the image?

     

    And then exported with an SDR/Rec.709 export preset?

     

    As that all would combine to create what you have described. Well, it's one way of getting to what you've described, at least.

     

    Where, if my guesses are correct., actually setting the CM correctly would get a different result ... auto detect log and auto tonemapping on, and if working on a Rec.709 sequence, using a Rec.709 export preset.

    Thank you for the suggestions.  I imported the Quicktime file into a different sequence and the export worked perfectly.  Thanks again.

    Did you import in the export file, and look at it in PP and can compare the results.

    I did import the exported file, and it appears that the values are being crushed.  I've looked at all my settings and cannot see where I might have affected the default.
