P: Lumetri Color sliders not working

Hey there. This just started happening in the last week or two. When I go to use Lumetri Color, the sliders all start all the way to the left as shown in the picture. There default values all show 0 as well. Then, at the slightest touch, the slider will jump all the way to the right and max out the value. So the slider does not work, and it only allows default, or max. no in between. I can adjust settings just fine by typing in the values, but this take way longer and i cant see the change gradually. Premiere is up to date, running 24.1.0 and my macbook is a 16" 2023 with an m2pro chip and 16gb of ram. Sometimes this issue happens and sometimes it doesn't. I have tried resetting my computer, resetting premiere, it just seems to happen when it feels like it.

Thanks.

Hi Community,

Please check Fixed Issues: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/fixed-issues.html.

Fixed:

Slider controls in the Lumetri Color panel jumped all the way to the left if a Lumetri preset was created in Premiere Pro 24.1.

Regards,
Kevin

I've been having this issue for over a month now, sometimes it happens and other times it doesn't. All the Lumetri color sliders are shifted to the left and using the slider in anway changes the values drastically and not by small incremets. I've had Premiere updates as well as Mac updates and it still seems to be an issue. Has anyone else been having the same issues? I've attached a photo of the problem.

Hi @Rettig Co.,

Please try updating Premiere Pro and let us know if your issue is solved.

In an update to my last post I also found how turning off V1 (and so on) track targeting seems to remedy the issue - you can then still grade on the original clip without needing to add the adjustment layer. I haven't seen any of my projects revert back to the issue since doing this.

Its amazing, months after the bug has been made aware of in these forums. That this is still an issue for users.

The Lumetri Color sliders get stuck all the way to left, it has been present for me through several updates. This is something that should be a relativly easy fix but yet still reamains.

Only fix I have been able to find is by using a Loup Deck to reset sliders. But if im paying as much money as I am for this software. The simple stuff should work. Premeire Pro needs to focus on fixing these small bugs rather than new features and should be pretty fast to fix these issues. This issue has been a major productivity killer.

I'm on the current Mac Os version 24.1 with no new update available. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Done what everyone else suggests and still an issue.

How to replicate.. Open the app and goto Lumetri Color and the issue is there. Double click doesn't fix the issue. I haven't found any fix that doensn't require a Loup Deck.

@defaultrqf4ogd642jq I'm sorry you've been hitting this issue. There is a fix to prevent it in Premiere Pro (Beta) and it will also be in the next release of Premiere Pro very soon. The issue in this case was if you created Lumetri presets in version 24.1. You'll need to re-create or not use those presets once you update.

It seems to come from applying a saved preset grade to the main clip. I added the preset grade to an adjustment layer instead, cleared the main clip, then closed and reopened the project and it seems to be working now

I have an enormous stack of old effects presets. There are 2 issues I've encountered with ppro2024 (24.1):

1.  in lumetri the sliders are all off to the left, no matter what the numerical value.  Moving the sliders sets the value to 100 (in most cases), no matter where the slider is. The Lumetri panel is also borked, but not in the same way. You cant use the sliders to set values either. Negative values are right out.

2.  Lumetri Presets with masks work fine, but if I edit the masks eg animate them when I reload the project after a save either keyframes are missing, or the mask has entirely disappeared

Before I report these as bugs, has anyone else experienced this?
I'm on windows 11, using a gtx1080ti driver 546.01

and also its kind of maddening.  So many of these small bugs. Most of them aren't showstoppers, but adobe! It not just in premiere, they're there in bridge, photoshop, lightroom, indesign, illustrator... if I were to spend my time bug reporting and following them up I'd never have time to do any work.

There's another thread here somewhere back on this forum, last week sometime, where a staffer posted about this issue. So search for Lumetri over the last week or so.

So I'm working on editing a video file and I'm getting a bug with the new Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 stuff that is effecting my white balance. When I try to use the white balance dropper tool to select a particular point and make it white, it automatically tints the entire video to green rather than tint the particular point white. My Tint and Temperature sliders are also broken as well. Whenever I click on either one of the sliders it automatically goes to 100 and it doesn't change when I move either slider left to right.

This weird bug a few users are getting about the Lumetri sliders would be a right royal pain. No question there. Hope they get it fixed quick. Or get word out how to fix things on the local machine, if it's a "local" issue.

Past that ... I work for/with/teach pro colorists, and use Resolve a lot ... for over a decade now.

Good luck with that LoupeDeck in Resolve. While some users gripe about the Adobe subscription thing, at least Adobe makes their profit on software. So they work to allow all hardware makers like Tangent and LoupDeck et all to function within Premiere.

In Premiere, my Elements panel is an amazing tool for everything from color through sound mixing, graphics movement/rotation/sizing, you name it.

BM makes their profits on hardware sales. A different, but equally valid model. Just understand though, that Resolve at this time is simply a loss-leader to get you buying BM kit. Their mapping for a Tangent Elements panel is incredibly limited, more than half the controls are 'dark' (unused) at any one time, and you cannot change the mapping in Resolve.

Because they need us to buy BM kit. And I've got enough to have an extra Resolve license or two sitting here. Love my BMPCC4K  ... 😉

Thankfully, Tangent now has software that allows us to bypass Resolve's mapping limitations. Because 1) I do NOT need to spend more money on a BM panel that 2) I don't have extra room for on my desktop, especially as it's useless in Premiere.
