Peak file files generate every time I reopen a project
I'm currently using Preimere 25.1 but to be honest this is a perennial problem with Premiere. It doesn't happen everytime, but it happens often enough to be a nuisannce, and with larger projects can significantly slow down my workflow. I've see some people in the forums have an issue with Catalyst Prepare / Browse but I don't have those plugins installed.
A bit of a separate but perhaps related issue is that Premiere will also occasionally forget where files are located. I use a NAS server as the main backup for all files and usually do the initial setup for a project from the NAS. However, when I'm editing I'll work from an identical file folder structure on a fast, local SSD. Premiere will often, as in basically every time, look for the files on the NAS upon reopenign a project, despite the files having been relinked to the SSD repeated. The weird thing is, when I relink to the SSD this doesn''t necessarily trigger peak file generation. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Also if I leave a project open for a significant amount of time, like overnight so that it can finish generating peak files, in the morning it will forget that some of the file sare on the SSD and look for them again on the NAS.
I've reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere, I've even recently done a fresh reinstall of Mac OS, this is a problem that has existed for generations of Premiere versions.
Also I'm not willing to turn off automatic peak generation, this is a necessary part of my workflow.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the double / overly complex question.
