Please fix flickering play-head resulting in inactive timeline

Still getting this flickering playhead issue. My interface basically become inactive when this happens. I've done everything: Update graphics card, updated Adobe Premiere and reworked my cache and ram. I've configured the graphics on the computer for Premiere and udated the C++ preview files. There is really no workaround for this? (Video of what is happening attached)

Work Computer:

Windows 10.0.18362

Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core

16 GB Ram

AMD Radeon RX 580

Hello @FeedbackCommunityMember,

Thanks for the message. Here's another old bug. I am sorry you haven't gotten a response. Are you still having this issue? If so, the team will need more info from you to reproduce the bug. Can you provide the information required here? How do I write a bug report?

I'll move your post to the Discussions board while we await your information.

Thanks,

Kevin

Wow, I have the exact same setup (I mean, exact same CPU, GPU, RAM size and OS) and the exact same issue.

I had a similar problem and the fix for me was to switch the Project window from Icon view to List view. Good luck

Is the fix here?
I have exactly the same problem since I installed version 13.1.5 in November. I tried absolutely with everything. Adobe technical support also tried to solve the problem through remote access but never managed to solve the issue. I installed the new version 14.0.1 and for 24 hours the error did not occur even once (with waveform showing all the time). The same sequence of the same project produces the problem just at twenty minutes with 13.1.5. Anyone else tried version 14.0.1?

Thank you Leticia, this was driving me crazy. Had to kill Premiere 10x a day because of this.

I found a partial fix here...…

https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/Still-getting-the-flickering-play-head-inactive-timeline-issue/m-p/10709867#M234913

In your sequence, just CLICK on the Wrench and then UNcheck "show audio waveform". It will block the wave file graphic and the flickering head will stop.

It's great for editing picture, but if you need to see the wave, well... enter at your own risk, lol.

COME ON ADOBE, FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!! RRRrrrrrr this bug should NOT be in PPro after all these years.

I have the EXACT same problem as in your video. That dam flickering playback head. My sequences are not that long, about 3 or 4 mins, cuts every 5 to 8 seconds.... nothing unusual. I have done everything in the book, update the gpu drivers, new install of ppro. Sometimes I will copy the sequence into a new one and the flickering will go away... .but then re appears later, when I open another sequence. A random annoying problem that Adobe has NO IDEA HOW TO FIX. They tell me to "import the project into a new one" well... that doesn't work either.

Dean if you get a fix for this, PLEASE PLEASE SHARE IT. Thank you!!!!

My system is similar

Win 10 // Ryzen 7 Eight Core 32 GB Ram Nvidia GTX 1050Ti.

DO SOMETHING ADOBE PLEASE!!!!! It ruins my concentration and disrupts my work constantly. I can't believe after all these years there are still so many dam bugs in this software.
