PP 23.5 update changes my fonts in essential graphics

Just updated from 23.4 to 23.5 on M1 and a M2 macbook pro. First thing I noticed is that my fonts look different in my essential graphic mogrts. I don't have access to the original after effects files, the mogrts were created in after effects and they were done by someone else. I have used these through many versions of Premiere, and today with the new version, they look different. Not having access to the original AE file, I am not sure if the whole font is changing or just a property of the font. It might be just that it is not bold.

This problem has been fixed. The fix should be available as of Premiere Pro version 24.1 or higher. It has also been fixed for After Effects, in case anyone was seeing it there as well.

@Seth Freethink In order to give you an update, we will need to understand exactly what the problem is and how it is happening for you. Can you send me some steps that I might be able to try myself and get it to happen? If those steps involve a specific mogrt, can you send me that mogrt as well? You should be able to click on my user name and use the direct message feature for that.

Seeing this reproducible bug on multiple machines in my environment. Would appreciate an update ASAP. Users are unable to use 23.5 because of this.

I have also encountering the same issue with mogrt.

The mogrt was created in AE 23.2.1 It's working with premiere 23.4 but not 23.5

Would like to know if there's a work around. Thanks!

  • Does Montesarrat look like the correct font now that you can see things in Ae?
  • Montserrat is an Adobe font, so as long as you are using that one and not some other non-Adobe Montserrat font, it should show the same font when you use the mogrt in Pr. And CC Services will even auto-activate it when needed.
  • For sending me the mogrt, click on my name and send me a direct message. If it won't let you send it that way, let me know and I will send you an email.

Hi, thank you for looking into my problem. I was not aware I could open the mogrt into Ae. That's great. When I open it in AE, it is coming up with the font Montserrat Semi Bold. I'm not sure how to know what font is coming up in premiere 23.5. I could send you the mogrt, but would prefer to send it privately. Is there a way I can do this?

Do you know what Font it is supposed to be using and what it is now substituted with?
Can you send me a mogrt that causes the problem? And...
If you launch Ae, choose Open Project, then open the mogrt that was made in Ae, you will have access to original Ae project again.
