Question

Premier Freezes and Non Responsive

I have reverted to Premiere and want to know if I should uninstall Premiere Pro as I cannot get any response and it continues to freeze. I have not been able to playback and the only thing it allowed me today was load a clip into the source monitor but with no preview or image. I have Adobe 26.5.1 (Build 1)

    To troubleshoot the issue properly, we’ll need a few more details. Could you please share your system specifications (OS, CPU, GPU, and RAM)? Also, does the app freeze while performing a specific task, or does it happen randomly? We’re here to help, just need a little more info to get started!

    I just spent half an hour detailing all the issues and just attached my specs and went to open it to make sure it was the right file and now it has wiped all the details. Okay the short version now. Timeline: Playhead would only play to the mid point of a 45 sec time then freeze but play to end

    Consistent: Many times of ‘Premiere has quit unexpectedly while a project was open”

    Playhead stuck and even couldn’t  move with mouse

    Have transcoded clips before importing, Media Encoder also didnt like the work and would just and dissappear off the screen (Outside of Premiere not with any project open)

    Always had to Ctrl-Alt Del as trying exit with consistent “Not Responding” then Task Manager to shutdown.

    Have uninstalled Premiere 26.5.1 and reinstalled 26.2.2 so now will see how that goes after sending this. Have attached two files of the machines details

    Thanks for the details. Would you mind checking whether the drivers for your AMD Radeon RX7800 XT GPU are installed properly? The Windows screenshot you shared doesn’t show the discrete GPU and instead appears to be displaying details for the integrated GPU. Also, please share a screenshot of the Audio Hardware Preferences panel in Premiere, and let us know what type of media files you’re working with (format, frame rate, and frame size).
